Zodiac and Birthstones
Gemstones have been connected to birth dates for many
centuries. Originally many cultures had a specific stone
for each sign of the zodiac, but this changed in time.
Eventually it became common for a different gemstone to
represent each month of the year.
The
folklore attached to each stone varied from culture to
culture, but all had one universal belief: wearing your
birthstone brought you good fortune.
